Happy Mother’s Day
This is my first Mother’s Day without my mom, so I’m especially aware this year that today can hold many emotions at once. I’m thinking of everyone who carries the heart of a mother in any form. To those raising children, those whose babies were not born, those missing their moms, those who are stepmoms, grandmothers, bonus moms, foster moms, adoptive moms, aunties, mentors, caregivers, and those who may not have the title but have been “mom” in all the ways that matter.

Storm Safety Reminder
Heavy storms are predicted today, so please try to make sure you’re prepared before they move through. Keep an eye on the weather, charge your phone, and have a plan if warnings are issued. If you’re at home: Move to a basement, storm shelter, or small interior room on the lowest level, away from windows Keep sturdy shoes, a flashlight or battery-powered lantern, medications, keys, wallet, and a charged phone nearby Bring pets into your shelter area early if you can, and ke

1st Annual Mayor's Cup
UPDATE: What a great day for the 1st Annual Mayor’s Cup supporting PGA HOPE. Ten teams played, and Team Cottleville took home the trophy. Congratulations to them! I was so happy to be part of this event and grateful for everyone who came out to support the veteran teams, provided snacks along the course, lent golf carts, helped make the day run smoothly, and brought such wonderful community energy. We really do have the best community. Special thanks to my team, Team Lake S

Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA)
Many people who live in Lake St. Louis today may not realize that RECA, the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act, could still apply to them based on where they lived years ago. If you grew up in North St. Louis, spent time near Coldwater Creek, or lived, worked, or went to school in impacted parts of St. Louis City, St. Louis County, or St. Charles County during the 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s, this may be worth a closer look. If you lived, worked, or attended school for at lea

📚 A quick reminder for fellow readers and future readers alike...
The library’s 250 Books Celebration is a great reason to stop in, get a library card, and make the most of what our libraries offer. I loved going to the library as a kid. With a library card, it felt like the doors to a million worlds opened up and fed my imagination. As I got older, more and more of my reading focused on school requirements, professional topics, and building my leadership skills. Then, a few years ago, a friend gave me a book for Christmas. It was one of h

💚 After the High Winds, Let’s Look Out for One Another
You may be seeing posts on social media about limbs coming down, pergolas blowing over, and umbrellas being swept away after the high winds we had on Sunday. We had a few limbs come down at our house, and one of my large campaign signs even had the grommets ripped right out. Some things are easy enough to repair, but I know that may not be the case for everyone. So I did a little research and wanted to share a few free or low-cost resources that may help neighbors dealing wit

📣 Yard signs will begin going up across Ward 1 starting March 21.
Yard signs are one of the simplest ways neighbors learn about the campaign as they drive through the community. 🏡 If you’d be willing to host one, I’d truly appreciate your support. Our volunteers will deliver and place the sign for you, and we’ll come back to collect it after the election. ✅ Request your yard sign here: https://www.angelaforward1.com/request-a-yard-sign If you have a friend or neighbor who might be willing to host a sign too, feel free to share this with th

🌿 Mission: Clean Stream – Let’s Show Up for Our Waterways!
On Saturday, April 11, our community is joining neighboring cities for Mission: Clean Stream — a regional effort to remove trash from local streams and lakes. In 2024 alone, nearly 1,000 volunteers pulled 11 tons of trash from area creeks in just two hours. That’s the power of people coming together. All participants must complete a liability waiver and photo release form before participating, and registration is required. 📋 Get full details and access the waiver form here:.
