💚 After the High Winds, Let’s Look Out for One Another

You may be seeing posts on social media about limbs coming down, pergolas blowing over, and umbrellas being swept away after the high winds we had on Sunday. We had a few limbs come down at our house, and one of my large campaign signs even had the grommets ripped right out. Some things are easy enough to repair, but I know that may not be the case for everyone.
So I did a little research and wanted to share a few free or low-cost resources that may help neighbors dealing with storm cleanup or damage:
☎️ United Way 211
A free, confidential referral line that can help connect people with local recovery resources and support services in Missouri. Call 211 or 800-427-4626. You can also search for help through 211helps.org.
❤️ American Red Cross Missouri
The Red Cross provides disaster relief and recovery help, including emergency assistance for people affected by disasters. For help, visit the Missouri Red Cross help page or call 877-272-7337.
🧹 Crisis Cleanup Hotline
Missouri has used this hotline to connect residents with volunteers who may be able to help with debris cleanup after major storms. Services are free, though availability depends on whether the hotline has been activated for the current event. People needing debris cleanup assistance could call (844) 965-1386 to be connected with volunteers.
Also, if your Angela for Ward 1 yard sign was damaged in the wind, please let me know, and I’ll be glad to bring you a new one. I can also add an anchor for extra support if you’d like. Just let me know.
Please continue checking on your neighbors, especially older adults and anyone who may need extra help right now. A little kindness and support can go a long way after a storm.
